SkyBrief is a preflight weather briefing app for general aviation pilots. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data SkyBrief collects, how it is used, and your rights.
SkyBrief uses Firebase Authentication to manage sign-in. You can sign in with Google, Sign in with Apple, or with an email and password. We store the following account information:
This data is stored securely by Google Firebase and is used solely to identify your account within the app.
If you grant location permission, SkyBrief uses your coordinates to find nearby weather stations. Location data is processed entirely on your device and is never transmitted to our servers or any third party.
SkyBrief fetches weather information (METARs, TAFs, NOTAMs, and charts) directly from aviationweather.gov, a public API operated by NOAA and the National Weather Service. No personal data is sent with these requests.
Your preferences, personal minimums, saved aircraft profiles, and other settings are stored locally on your device using MMKV (a high-performance key-value store). This data never leaves your device.
SkyBrief does not use any analytics services, advertising SDKs, or third-party tracking tools. We do not collect usage data, crash reports, or behavioral information.
No other third-party services receive data from SkyBrief. SkyBrief does not collect interactions with the app for advertising purposes.
Your Firebase account data is retained as long as your account exists. You can delete your account at any time from the Settings screen in the app. Local data is removed when you uninstall the app.
SkyBrief is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
